O exílio na terra dos muitos

Sinopse

"Historical novel focuses on a 1742 soldiers' revolution in Rio Grande do Sul. No particular hero emerged from that rebellion, the motive for which was a simple demand for bread. The Portuguese Crown seemed to have forgotten about even the existence of these humble subjects. Some credit the event as the seed for subsequent revolutions leading to an independent state in that region"--Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 58.
