Granta 81

Sinopse

Twenty years ago, Granta devoted an entire issue to new fiction by twenty of the 'Best of Young British Novelists'. Ten years later, in 1993, it did the same again. Both lists were revealing snapshots of a generation of writers about to come into their own. The first included Martin Amis, Pat Barker, Julian Barnes and Kazuo Ishiguro. The second, Ian Banks, Louis de Berniers, Helen Simpson and Jeanette Winterson. Who are the best of today's young British novelists? Five Granta judges read and deliberated. This issue, with new fiction from all twenty writers, is their answer in 2003.
