Sinopse

"The issue of sexual assault on college campuses is the focus of growing attention--from headlines about out-of-control fraternities, to the mattress protests at Columbia University, to the cover-up of rape accusations against prominent college athletes like football star Jamie Winston. The Hunting Ground, the new documentary by award-winning filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, has taken the country's concern over campus assualt to a new level, becoming a lightning rod for discussions following thousands of screenings on campuses around the country. The film has sparked calls for legislation by Senator Kristen Gillibrand and other prominent officials, been lauded by the White House, and unleashed backlash from university administrators, fraternities, and conservative media commentators. Now, in this companion book to the documentary film, readers will get behind-the-scenes deatails of how the film was created; hear the personal stories of women and men who've been assaulted; and meet experts on campus culture, fraternities, and university athletics who explain why this violence continues and what can be done to stop it. They will learn how leading writers and thinkers react to the film; how students, faculty, and alumni are standing up to their institutions; and what everyone can do to help effect change." --
