The Complete Chopin

Sinopse

Chopin's music occupies an ever-present place of love and affection in the hearts of countless listeners around the world. What is it that captivates our attention and, with every painfully subtle harmonic turn and every invulnerably fugitive melodic phrase, leads us deeper into Chopin's inner world? Often his music is sensed as being born in the moment with utmost sincerity, as if transcending all barriers between poetic expression and musical form. It speaks to us as something intimate and personal, as if being revealed by the composer without constraint. Perhaps that is the mercurial magic in his music that we can now experience in full with this collection of the complete works by a poet of music -- one who never wrote a single prosaic note. - Daniil Trifonov - Introduction.
