Ester (Neubearbeitung)

Sinopse

"Beate Ego's new commentary on the book of Esther contains detailed discusssions of the books textual history, language, structure, literary genre, date of composition, and theology. The story of Esther has reworked a number of older biblical as well as Persian and Greek concepts. In doing so, it grapples with Persian and Greek notions of authority and probes Israels existence among the nations: Israel, which has a unique place in the midst of the surrounding nations on account of its adherence to its law and finds itself threatened, can be assured of the protection of its God even in the Diaspora."--
