Sinopse

Minako Masui was born in 1940 in Yokohama, Japan. As a young woman, she dreamed of coming to Europe and ended up, of all places, in Landskrona 1962, which selected among many students for the city's anniversary the following year. In 1979 she moved to Malmö, where, in addition to working as a cytodiagnist, she began her artistic education for the legendary Bertil Lundberg at the Graphics School Forum (1984-89).0Her daily work in the laboratory has provided an insight and a fascination for a microcosmic world, which has constantly been reminded of her art. Her visual skills are based on a curiosity on traditional techniques such as mezzotint and dry needle, but also on a desire to experiment with cross-border expressions, not infrequently in large format, which also includes the surrounding space.0Minako Masui has had extensive exhibition activities around the world and participated in several of the international graphic triennials, such as Krakow, Tokyo and Jyväskylä. Her art is represented at the National Museum and the Modern Museum in Stockholm, the art museums in Malmö, Gothenburg, Norrköping, Uppsala, Västerås and Eskilstuna in Sweden. In addition, Alvar Aalto Museum, Kuso-no-Mori Museum in Japan, National Museum in Krakow with several foreign museums.
