This work discusses the museums in their constant transformations, inserted in an arena of disputes around political projects and social representations of different ideological shades. It covers a bibliographical gap on the recent Latin American museological experiences, based on reflections made by researchers from different countries of the continent. "With that we present, in a critical reflection and innovative, a series of articles written by historians, anthropologists, museographers, and archaeologists which highlight the richness of the museographic processes, in addition to new research perspectives around an institution that is assuming fundamental importance in our continent today."
