Claude Tousignant

Sinopse

"Retrospsepctive on the life's work of an artist considered an abstractionist visionary of the first order. The work of Claude Tousignant, from the 1950s to today, encompasses the full range of modernist expression. With his geometric shapes and solid colors coupled with his refusal to incorporate human or identifiable shapes, Tousignant pushed the boundaries to simplify the expression itself in the act of painting, incorporating huge circles, square angles and vivid colors in his pieces. Through a discussion of the exceptional qualities of his profoundly structured oeuvre, this publication outlines the artist's painstaking quest for the essence of art, not only with painting but also with watercolour, gouache and sculpture, and always with a rigour and an unwavering commitment to an ideal."--BOOK JACKET.
