Abenteurer der Ferne

Sinopse

Long before Columbus, the peoples of the ancient Mediterranean voyaged to the Sahara and to Siberia, crossed the North Sea, and reached as far as China. This book presents a history of the voyages of classical and pre-classical cultures, describing the encounters with foreign cultures and investigating how it came about that ancient sea-farers wanted to circumnavigate Africa and cross the Atlantic.
