Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand Solger's Erwin. Vier Gespräche über das Schöne und die Kunst, published in 1815, consists of four dialogues that deal with some of the central aesthetic themes of German Romanticism and Idealism. In particular theories about the symbol, allegory and irony are developed and discussed by the interlocutors.
