BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUM

Sinopse

"In this inspiring saga of African American experience, teacher and journalist Ross probes the nature of searching for purpose by sharing the struggles and triumphs of people who have chosen unique paths. Profiled are individuals in more than 25 careers, including a zoo curator, a guitar designer, and a scientist. The stories are compelling and show how these potential role models have refused to accept social and cultural barriers. What is particularly striking is that each person has a mission to help others pursue their own life vision. Readers, no matter what their racial or cultural background, are sure to expand their understanding of the American dream and where they might fit in."--The publisher.
